Despite the terrible weather forecast about ten cars made the trip to the Packard museum followed by lunch at 'The Office' cafe next door. The cars were brilliant and had 5.3 litre straight eight motors and an all up weight of over two tons.

The day started with heavy rain and wind but cleared up on the way to Kaikohe. We spent an couple of hours at the Fire Museum which proved to be very interesting as they have an excellent collection. From the museum we went to the Left Bank restaurant which is a restored bank and we had an excellent lunch and good company.
The annual picnic at Tauranga was a great success as the hint of rain quickly cleared and we had a sunny day with about twenty cars. Our sponsors generously provided prizes which were much appreciated with Murray and Pauline Taylor taking the best car with a prize from Noel Leaming and also the best pre 1970 car with their 1939 Jaguar.
Brian Hepburn. We are all very saddened to hear that Brian Hepburn passed away today, Sunday 5/01/2020 shortly after helping at the Breakfast with the Cars of which he was the prime organiser. Brian, together with with his wife Joan, was a tireless and energetic contributor to the club, who always had an anecdote or joke to entertain his friends and colleagues and he will be sorely missed. Our deepest condolences go to his wife Joan. John and Jennie Mark hosted our Christmas get together at their beautiful home at Opito Bay where we enjoyed some fine weather and spectacular views of the bay.
Our President, Ian cooked a very succulent ham, the members brought plates of salad and some beautiful desserts. All in all a very pleasant day to end to our calendar year. On 17th of November the club held it's annual AGM at Lynette Lindsay's home and it was a warm and sunny day and just right for the garden setting. The committee was re-elected without vote and the president, Ian Greaves, reported on the clubs activities during the year including many car runs to places of interest followed by a lunch, which is a popular formula. We tried a mystery run with clues which led to a good restaurant for lunch which was successful though only ten cars took part. Breakfast with the cars, organised by Brian and Joan Hepburn is drawing cars from all over region and the numbers are growing with sometimes over a hundred cars. The financial report, given by Angela Young, showed that we broke even with increased expenditure and we voted to increase the annual subscription to $40 a couple. Membership is growing steadily, which is encouraging and Bruce and Angela Ussher were made life members for the sterling work that they have done for the club. We all enjoyed an excellent barbecue in the sunshine and good company. We had an excellent guided tour of the Whaling Museum at Butler Point, Hihi. A wealth of information about this historic site that reaches right back to the first days of European settlement in New Zealand. Whaling was a dangerous, gruesome and messy business and we are all pleased that it is gone.
Several members had close association with the family and the site which made it all very interesting. The Jack Morgan Museum had a variety of interesting displays showing equipment used in farming, logging blacksmithy and mechanics from the pioneer and settlers in the area.
We then drove on to Helena Bay for a good lunch and then a scenic drive North along the coast back to the Bay of Islands. A fine day for the first day of Spring and Fathers day gave us a good turnout for Breakfast with the cars. Two Clubs from Whangarei joined us and we had over seventy cars. Charlottes was very busy and had one hundred and fifty breakfasts but coped very well
Despite a bad forecast twenty four of us went to the Pioneer museum at Kaikohe and had a good look round at the way we used to live before heading inside to the log fire and a barbecue lunch.
