October run to the Whaling Museum at Hihi

We had an excellent guided tour of the Whaling Museum at Butler Point, Hihi. A wealth of information about this historic site that reaches right back to the first days of European settlement in New Zealand. Whaling was a dangerous, gruesome and messy business and we are all pleased that it is gone.
Several members had close association with the family and the site which made it all very interesting.
